SPECIAL AWARDS:

Mini Miss Talentzone Talent Winner*- open to girls ages 6 to 8 (optional category for this division)
Miss Talentzone Photogenic Winner*- open to unmarried women in high school ages 16 and up
Jr. Miss Talentzone Photogenic Winner*- open to unmarried young ladies ages 12-15
Little Miss Talentzone Photogenic Winner*- open to girls ages 9 to 11
Mini Miss Talentzone Photogenic Winner*- open to girls ages 6 to 8

1. ADJUDICATION OF AWARDS:

Miss Talentzone Queens will be judged from a point system.

• 20 points for interview**-  with each individual judge- current events, etc.
• 50 points for talent*
• 20 points for evening gown- runway presentation & appearance
• 10 points for onstage question- based on submitted application**

Total points possible 100 per judge- score totaled and averaged divided by number of judges.*Miss Talentzone Talent Winner and *Jr. Miss Talentzone Winner need not participate in entire pageant but may enter the talent competition ONLY; therefore it is possible for a pageant contestant to win BOTH the Miss Talentzone Queen and Miss Talentzone Talent Winner Titles. Total talent scores based on a possible 50 points per judge as follows:

• 15 points for audience appeal & adherence to time limit (3 minutes)
• 15 points for costume and appropriateness of costume
• 15 points for presentation/showmanship and technique
• 5 points overall impression to judge including age appropriateness of talent selection

Miss Talentzone Photogenic and Jr. Miss Talentzone Photogenic may be entered by participants in the Miss Talentzone Pageant OR the Miss Talentzone Talent Competition who pay the additional entry fee and submit one recent B & W or color 5 x 7 or 8 x 10 photograph with their entry form. Contestants may enter the photogenic competition on day of pageant. Total photogenic scores based on a possible 20 points per judge as follows:

• 5 points for composition (including hair, makeup, clothing)
• 10 points for drama & intensity of expression (serious or happy) & photographic subject
• 5 points for overall impression by judge

All score sheets will be available to each contestant at the completion of the entire pageant or may be obtained from THE ZONE at a later date. All photographs from photogenic category can be collected by the contestants after completion of pageant however, THE ZONE will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to any photographs especially after the date of the pageant.

1. JUDGES AND DECISIONS:

All decisions of the judges are final. Judges are compensated for their participation in Talentzone Pageants; therefore great pains are taken to find qualified judges who will not know any of the contestants. The names of the judges will be publicized before the pageant. If any judge knows a contestant they will step down from the judges panel. All judges and credentials will be carefully screened and available to participants. Any employees or affiliates of THE ZONE, TALENTZONE CORP. or it's sponsors will not be eligible as judges. NO EXCEPTIONS.

4. PRIZES AND AWARDS:

*Miss Talentzone Queen /*Talent Winner / *Jr. Miss Talentzone Queen / *Talent Winner will receive tiaras, banners and bouquets. 1^st and 2^nd runner ups in the Queen Divisions will Receive bouquets. All entrants will receive a certificate of participation. Miss TalentzoneQueen and Jr. Miss Talentzone Queen will agree to participate in other pageants and functionsSponsored by THE ZONE or TALENTZONE CORP. in the following year. If for any reasonThe elected Queen can not perform her duties- responsibilities will fall to the 1^st runners up. Upon entrance into this competition it is agreed by contestant and/or guardian that the use Of any photograph or likeness in any form (i.e.: print, video, audio) be allowed for use in Press releases or advertisements by THE ZONE, TALENTZONE CORP. or sponsors. Photogenic winners will receive a trophy and bouquet. *Winners will receive sponsors prizes.

5. THE TALENTZONE TITLE AND FORFEITURE:

Talentzone Pageants and competitions are to promote community awareness of higher education and scholarship pageants. The Queens in each category will be promoted under THE ZONE's tutelage to further their pageant careers by getting more experience in other pageants and ventures in preparation for the Miss New Jersey- division of Miss America pageants. Queens must also maintain a C average or higher in school during their years reign-

And exhibit an upstanding example to youth in the community, otherwise their title will fall to the runners up. Returning Queens will be expected to perform at and/or crown the new Queen in the following year's pageant. (1999 in this case)

6. ENTRY FEES:

Miss Talentzone 1998 Queen and Jr. Miss……………………………………………… $75.

7. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

No dangerous props such as fire, swords or knives may be used in talent competition. Also no

lewd, violent or suggestive costumes, or music will be permitted in the pageant. Questions or concerns about such may be presented to pageant directors prior to the date of the pageant. No additional sound equipment or microphones may be used or connected to the Talentzone sound system. Two microphones will be provided for vocalists etc. Any accompaniment for talent entry must be cued up and on cassette tape. No lip syncing will be permitted; no lead vocals may be on accompaniment tape- background vocals permitted. Solo entries only. No soundchecks- no starting over.

8. TALENTZONE reserves the right to change competition date or location due to unforseen circumstances. NO CASH REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED. Smoking is not prohibited in pageant area. Sportsmanlike behavior is expected at all times, failure to display proper decorum could result in disqualification. THE ZONE, TALENTZONE and it's sponsors and are not responsible for personal injury or property loss. Agents, managers, or salesmen may not solicit their business or unauthorized services to contestants without prior consent of pageant directors. (This includes outside photographers and videographers not with press) Such solicitation will result in the removal of party or parties and forfeiture of ticket price.
